Yoga for Autism Workshop Saturday Feb 9 10:00 - 6:00 TriYoga Boston in Waltham, MA
The Voice Colors Yoga for Autism workshop is ideal for health care providers, educators, parents and autism professionals. No yoga experience is necessary!
View autism through a holistic lens. Autism is a "systems disorder" that can affect sleep, digestion, allergies and other systems of the physical body. Stress, pain and dis-ease in the body can dramatically decrease quality of life and daily functioning for people with autism.
Understand how yoga and autism are a natural fit! Stress management skills and maintaining overall heath and wellness are essential for this population. Yoga can be taught visually. Poses can be modified for any level of physical ability. Participants can make progress at their own pace. Most importantly, yoga empowers individuals with autism to be active participants in their own self-care and healing.
Learn simple and safe yoga-based exercises with take-home visual supports. Yoga-based exercises can be used at home, in a classroom, in a day program or even in a work setting to regulate stress, enhance focus, increase physical activity and promote overall wellness. Visual supports make yoga meaningful and accessible for students with autism.
